Lincoln Park Home Remodel Home Type: Single-family Location: Lincoln Park Budget: $250,000 – $500,000 Project design and challenges: Full restoration of a 5,400 square foot 1886 Victorian, 6 bedroom, 5 bathroom Lincoln Park home. This Chicago area restoration included adding a scullery kitchen, three-story addition, and a two-car garage. The kitchen and bathrooms were restored with addition of vintage sourced materials. Radiant heated floors were installed in the home as well as masonry updates and new windows. Antique fixtures are featured throughout the home with updated appliances that still match the era. Restoration of the basement interior was also done. It was extremely important to repurpose and use green materials on this project, including milk-based paint, vintage sourced fixtures, and others to maintain the integrity of the 1800s Victorian home.
